The House is like Beautiful Phoenix rising from the ashes. The house has a lot of love
built in.

I know what it is like to have your home burn up. It is so devastating. No one knows until they have been there. This family deserves a new beginning. Thank you for making this so good for them!
Mary Birmingham

I really enjoyed being a volunteer. I am so proud of Gulick and all the volunteers as well as myself. I worked about 20 hours each day for five days. For me to be a diabetic type 2 I didn’t let it stop me —even my son Harry came out and helped that made me so proud too see how beautiful, and that good things could happen in life. I am so proud of the Brown Family, and even proud because Gulick and every one made it possible. I cried of happiness, and joy and what really made me to never give up because I know all of our heart was there. Looking forward to watch it Sunday at the arena and I know our Mayor is so proud of all of us and this city. Gulick you guys are the best - where words can’t describe, and thousands of miles can’t be walked. All are the greatest xoxoxoxoxo is all I have to say thanks Mike, Steve, and family and staff, and volunteers. Any time you need me to volunteered please do not hesitate. I will help out for life! Thank you and god bless.
Tell everyone I said Hello! Amen.

Although I live in New Mexico now, I am originally from Bridgeport, CT. I love Home Extreme Makeover and feel so lucky that I was visiting my family in CT at the right time this summer. What a wonderful thing to happen in my hometown! Good luck Brown Family. May God keep you under is protection.
Sadia Seyal

I live in Cortland N.Y. and build stores in New England. While in a holding pattern I learned about this project and thought I could contribute and to give back. The joy of the Browns and the construction people I met came back 100 fold! Hot, dog tired and waiting for the bus back, a little girl came up to me from the girl scouts. She gave me a pin and told me that it for me because what we volunteers did was out of love. I had a tear and a smile. My day was complete. She may not know what she did but she was a huge part of an indelible mermory that I'll keep forever. Thank you Dave Winner - the painter.

I live in northern New Mexico now but we lived in CT for two decades and most of our family is still there. Our son Chris Conti was project director on this site. We didn't realize the full impact of what he was telling us until we looked at the photos - especially those taken on the day the Brown family walked into the house. We were moved to tears. What a wonderful thing to do for such a deserving family. Thank you all and keep up the good work.

Having been on site several days and having seen the work and workers in progress I have to say there would be no Extreme Makeover without "Extreme Love." What makes this a successfull event is the spirit and heart of the American people, demonstrated in the wake of 911, hurricane Katrina, and other disasters... Extreme Love, the converging of many strangers to one location to confront adversity together for a brief period of time, giving without concern for self, and leaving a while later, changed and joined together forever by a bond stronger than friendship, stronger than family; a bond conceived and blessed by God...Extreme Love.
Thank you all for an unforgettable experience. I met some amazing people, names unknown, but stories similar, "...I came to help the Brown family..." ...and that you did, my friends. That you did.
Kim Damien

When I heard about the Extreme Makeover from the CT Post article on Thursday, July 26, I headed to the site immediately. At that point, the "old Brown home" was still standing. It was hard to imagine in just 6 short days that there would be a brand new home there. As the transformation began on the Brown home and word spread about the Extreme Makeover, I witnessed another transformation among people in the community. Office workers volunteered as garbage collectors. Nurses became soda transporters. Students became safety officers. Homemakers became towel distributors & gardeners. Teachers became cooler fillers. The list goes on and on. Laborers arrived throughout the night with their tools because they heard their skills were needed.
Everyone was doing whatever it took to get the project completed. As the sun rose on the morning of August 1, many of the sleep deprived workers and volunteers were racing to finish all of the details on the Brown home. The dream was now a reality!! Despite the extreme heat, many workers, volunteers, and community members returned to welcome the Browns home. As the family emerged from the shiny limo and the bus moved away, the crowd cheered and the Browns wept and vice versa.
Although the Browns received a new home, they weren't the only ones who received something special on that hot August evening. In my opinion, all of the workers and volunteers were given something just as valuable. The "extreme feeling" of working on such an extraordinary project with people that were just as extraordinary.
Perhaps it was summed up best by an exhausted, sweaty, construction worker who, when seeing the Brown's reaction, said, "This makes it all worth it!" It definitely did. WELCOME HOME BROWN FAMILY!!

Hi Guys Now that the dust has settled and I've had time to collect my thoughts I want to say thank you for an outstanding job bringing the Brown Family home! Although I know what we've accomplished, I still don't think the magnitude of it has hit me yet. Four weeks to plan and five days to execute such a task is daunting by any stretch of the imagination. The selfless commitment to this project shown by everyone on our team was humbling and deeply moving to me. I cannot thank you enough for your efforts. Each and every one of you showed up and showed up big. There is no doubt that Mike and I could not have done this with out you.
A house was built, a family was brought home, a community was brought together and given hope and thousands of lives were touched and changed forever. You were the spark that lit the flame and you should be very proud of what you accomplished.
So, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for saying "yes" and taking this journey with Michael and I. It was an honor and a privilege working with you.
You are all "Rock Stars" :) Steve Gulick

This was an amazing project to be apart of!! I didn't know what to expect when I arrived. Once there, It was an unbelievable experience! To see the progress from day to day, really hour to hour. I documented my time with photos. Which I will treasure forever! I want to thank my friend Lynda F for getting me involved, she makes me be a better person. Without her, much of what you see on this site would not have been possible. Of coarse with a little help from her friends, Clinton and all of the rest of the photogs!! Congratulations to everyone involved who made this beautiful house a home for the Browns!!

Wow, what a wild ride! What can I say to all of you except thank you! Thank you to all of the vendors, subcontractors, volunteers, spectators, contributors, and the City of Bridgeport. You all gave your hearts and souls to bringing the Brown Family home on time and in style.
When we were first approached by ABC to be the builder for the family we were honored. We thought that it would be a incredible experience to be able to give a new home to a more than deserving family, and it was. What we did not realize was how it would change us all, forever, for the better.
The friendships that were made, the laughter that was shared, the tears that were spilt, the stories that will forever be burned into our memories have changed us all forever. This has been a life experience that will not be forgotten. The true gift was given to all of us that volunteered our time and resources. We were all apart of a miracle on Hollister Ave. We not only changed the lives of the Brown Family we inadvertently changed our own lives by simply being apart of this extreme build.
We could not have accomplished the without each and every one of you! Thank you one and all from the bottom of our hearts!
Michael Gulick

Truly an experience to treasure. To see a project like this come to fruition in Fairfield County is testament to the love the Brown family cast over all of us. The friends we made, the tears we shed, and the achievement of our goal as a team is something I will never forget!! WELCOME HOME BROWN FAMILY! I hope you are enjoying your new home. I am so proud of Steve and Mike Gulick and all the volunteers that worked so hard to make this dream a reality. Thank you to everyone who helped out. I also need to thank Arnold Lumber, Rex Lumber, Holden Humphrey, Inc., Hatch & Bailey, Inc., Haynes, and Gault for the use of their delivery vehicles! Without these drivers and trucks we wouldn't have been able to build the house in a week.
Margaret Price Sims

It was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to watch the progress of the house. God bless you all. Such a beautiful house and an asset to the neighborhood. I love the windows! What did you put on the inside of the windows to give it the translucent effect? I can't see the beautiful decorations on the inside!
DaNeace

It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Thank you Steve and Mike Gulick for inviting me to join the management team. It was like taming a wild stallion from start to finish :) Thank you to the fantastic subcontractors - Lee and his trim carpenter, Mike of Wilton Electric, Herman's painters, and others, you know who you are. You made my many hours on the job easier, and to the volunteer workers who just showed up and gave 110 You were truly clutch! Joe the electrician, Rob the Plumber, Rob the trimmer, my friend Josh, Mike the scrambler, Kelly the 'Radar O'Reilly' of the job, Jimmy and Glen. You were all awesome. Besides the birth of my children and my wedding, this ranks right up there as one of the most memorable events of my life. Peace and prosperity to all of you.
Eric Gribin

Home Sweet Home Brown Family! We're looking forward to seeing the episode next month, since we regrettably missed the Brown's reaction in person, but had the pleasure in volunteering on their new home on Tues with such an amazing group of giving & caring people. A gratifying experience that I will never forget and for a family that we hope remains blessed for an eternity. A HUGE thanks to the Gulick's overwhelming generosity and to all the volunteers who worked day and night or even for a moment to make this happen. Way to go CT!

Truly an amazing experience and I thank all who made this possible in Bridgeport, CT. I volunteered and helped paint the master bathroom and have never met any more dedicated people than the ones I met at this makeover site. Who would have thought people would work this hard, build a house from ground up, 24/7 , and no pay! I am extremely happy to see there are still many good people out there that have a big heart and are willing to make a big positive change in other peoples lives. Thank you...... thank you!

Thank you, and Welcome Home Brown family.
Fran

What an awesome opportunity to work on this project!! The tears we all shed watching the reaction of the Brown family when the bus "moved" was true testament to what this meant to everyone involved. Landscaping was my gig and thanks goes to everyone who picked up a bucket, shovel, pick or hose. We were all filthy dirty but you all made it happen! Tysen, Sal, Tony - you guys are amazing!! Tysen for calling in all the crews! Sal and Tony - your hardscape will live on forever! Gloria, Bobbi, Fred and Janae -- we hope you all love roses, catnip and hydrangeas!! Lots of beautiful summer flowers to cut and bring inside! Enjoy to your hearts desire!!!
Cindy Shumate

This is a truly wonderful project. I happen to know that there was a behind the scene man - Mr. Michael Quan - who worked tirelessly to help put this thing together, while he and his wife awaited and experienced the birth of their first child. Sarah Quan was born on 7/16/07 and her Dad was there. The first sleepless night with a newborn was spent in Bridgeport Hospital with his wife Melissa, and also with his computer working on the "project". His unwaivering dedication to both his family and the "project" speaks loudly to what a wonderful person he is. I know, because he is my nephew Michael Quan.
Lynn Cain

I WANT TO THANK THE PERSON FOR SUBMITTING MRS. BROWN"S FAMILY NAME IN AS A CANDIDATE. SHE IS AWESOME. AS FOR THE VOLUNTEERS & EXTREME MAKEOVER THERE ARE NO WORDS. I AM SO SORRY I COULD NOT PARTICIPATE, MOVING FROM BPT., NOW LIVING IN AUGUSTA, GA. MY LOVE TO HER AND HER CHILDREN. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS I VOLUNTEERED FOR HER, TO HER CHILDREN I WAS THEIR DARE INSTRUCTOR. MAY GOD'S BLESSINGS CONTINUES, ALSO KEEPING THEM SAFE. EXTREME MAKEOVER AS YOU GO FORTH, MAY GOD BE WITH YOU IN ALL YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

I am finally catching my breath after the most incredible and exhilarating week of my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to every one of you involved in this life-changing experience. From the builders and sub contractors, to the volunteers and spectators, the spirit and committment you exhibited truly moved me. We did it, Bridgeport! We brought the Brown Family home!

I just wanted to thank all the volunteers but especially the crews that worked on the landscape. You brought our design into a reality and we are thrilled. Special thanks to Tysen, Sal, Mike, Jimmy, Keith. Keith, Dan and I from Didona Associates wish the best to the Brown Family. Steve and Mike, your team was the best. And Leigh Overland and his firm did an outstanding job designing the house. There was not a dry eye after seeing the Brown Family's reaction and that certainly made it all worth the effort. It was an experience I will always remember.
Jane Didona

I am in awe. God Bless you all.
Jen R.

I have been filled with so much happiness just knowing that there are so many people still in the world that care and will donate there time to help a family in need especially with the overwhelming heat we had this past week. I was unable to volunteer but I did what I could by donating. Bridgeport has had a bad rep for such a long time now and I hope that this story will inspire others in Bridgeport and surrounding cities to do the same for their neighbors. May God bless the Extreme Makeover team, Gulick Associates and everyone who donated and volunteered their time, money and energy. Thank you.
Jane Velez

WELCOME HOME BROWN FAMILY!!!! :-) I just wanted to say how proud I am of the way the community came together to help build the Brown family their new home. I am also SO thankful that I had the opportunity to help out and be part of it all. Thanks to everyone for their help and dedication to this family. They truly deserved it!!

To the Gulick Families.. BIG HEARTS WITH BRIGHT SMILES... WE LOVE YOU... DR. DAN AND STAFF..
Dianne/Dr. Daniel Minchik

Isn't it so mind boggling...there is tremendous love and happiness shared in this country...isn't it so much easier to give and experience this than hatred...maybe Extreme "Life" Makeover should be started in Iraq and other war torn countries so they can experience what we Americans enjoy and are so fortunate to live. What choice would they prefer...love or hate...it's a no-brainer for us...God Bless America and all of it's good people! Thank you to all of the good hearts out there!!!
Linda Hvizdo

GOD BLESS YOU!!!! You have achieved the seemingly IMPOSSIBLE but with GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! You have been a might blessing to this family - THANK YOU for your willingness to put your own needs aside for the needs of others - WE LOVE YOU!! It is wonderful to see that there are people out there, that still care about each other. these are the people that make our contry better to live in. Thank you for caring and giving everybody else hope in Bridgeport.

Steve, growing up together in Wilton I always new you were a very special person! I looked forward to being in the classroom with you. Your kindness, positive attitude and strength of character always shined through. Hats off to your parents for raising an "extremely" fine son. I could not think of any one more suitable for such a nobel commitment. Extreme Makeover Home Edition sure did get it right when they picked you and your team to build a home for the Brown family. Congratulations for making a dream come true!
Anna Tramontana Caiati - Wilton Class of 82'

I was never more proud of the Bridgeport region than this past week. We participated in the ultimate 'pay it forward' effort for the Brown Family as well as coming together for the greater good of their Hollister Avenue neighbors. Church volunteers helped a bride-to-be clean up her back yard for her upcoming wedding. Siding was replaced on a house that was damaged by fire. Helping the Brown Family was only part of what happened this week. This Extreme effort has launched a region-wide community building effort. Let's keep the effort going. We don't need the Extreme Makeover cameras to continue to make a difference for all those who need help. Every effort no matter how small is important. Congratulations to all. Welcome home Brown Family!
Nancy Hadley

We just watched the local news clips - the Brown's new home is AWESOME and so are you! Congratulations in making a difference!
Sue & John Shea

Dear Gulick Associates, construction crew and volunteers You all have many blessings coming your way. The Lord will reward you in so many gifts. The Brown Family will keep you in their prayers as I will. Thank you for showing the cynics and unbelievers in faith and the good in everyone that no one can tear down what the Lord contructs. Great Job.
Melissa Quinn-Wtby

I'm really happy for the family. I watch this show every Sunday, I have the most respect for abc, and extreme home makeover anyone who is involved. I hope the support was as great in Bridgeport as it is on TV. We came down to the site, I was so tuched that it was happeing in Conn. Great Job all of you who helped and worked really hard this week. God Bless all of You.

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement!
We need your help. We need to have this house done by 3:00pm and there is still work to be done. We are so close but we still need Finish Carpenters with their own tools, nail guns, compressors, etc and lots of professional painters with their own tools, brushes, rollers, ladders etc.
If you possess theses skills please come down to check in immediately and they will send you up to the site. If you do not possess these skills but know someone who does, please reach out and get them down here immediately. Time is running out!
It's been a long couple of days and we are all very tired but today is "Move that Bus" day and we can't wait to to have the Brown family finally come home! Please come down and join us in the celebration!
Thank you again for all your support. This has been an amazing experience and we have been truly blessed to have been a part of it.
Steve Gulick

I just want to saw that Connecticut is the best! Hats off to all of the volunteers that came to the plate to get this house finished. Through delays and the hot weather it looks like the house was done for the family to return home today. My husband and I were at the site on Sunday and I was so happy that I made the trip. We were there durning the filming of the volunteers coming down the street and we hollered our cheers to all the volunteers. This is a show that I watch every Sunday and just love the design team. Only thing I had wished was to be able to meet and or see Ty but he was not there. Again thank you Gulick Assoc for all the hard work you did and to all the volunteers.
Barbara Smith

My children, myself and their friend John, (whose Mom, Amy, was volunteering), brought down some supplies. It was incredible for the kids to see everyone working together. Even nicer, was to meet some of the neighbors who told us how deserving the Brown family is. GREAT WORK TEAM!!!!
Jeanine Jones

I just wanted to say thank you and I was so glad to help out volunteering on this project. The house is beautiful and everyone who helped should take a big bow.
Eileen Judd

This has been such a wonderful experience for the Bridgeport community. Everyone who has volunteered and are volunteering as I write this, my heart goes out to each and every one of you! To have a home selected from Bridgeport is an honor. The Brown family is very deserving of such a beautiful tribute and should be very proud! God Bless All of You!!!!
Pat Donaldson

It was both an honor and pleasure to be a volunteer on Tuesday at the site of the beautiful home being built for the Brown family. As an active member of the Westport Woman's Club, I am aware of the importance of "giving back" to the community. The Gulick family has truly shown its selfless compassion and being part of this project was "awe-inspiring" - So many people giving so tirelessly of their time and talent! Jeanne - Thank you for encouraging me to help out! Can't wait to yell "Move that bus!!!" -- God Bless everyone involved. "Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its vaiours forms." 1 Peter 4:9 & 10
Wendy McKeon

I volunteered this week at the site and it was one of the best experiences I have ever encountered. Everyone working so hard, as a team, each person doing something different that contributes to the family's home in some way. The 1am-6am shift, (led by and followed by) 2 full work days at my regular job was tough but I would do it again in a heart beat. God bless all who contributed in some way. The Brown family has been blessed with this experience and by all means, they deserve it.
Amie Vargas

I want to commend all the workers who volunteered their time into making a dream come true. Even though my time there from 1 AM to 6AM on Friday, there was not a lot for us volunteers to do it was amazing to see the workers and how dedicated they were to getting the footings ready for the cement to be poured for the basement walls and working without taking a break when the cement did arrive. I would also like to thank Health Net for giving us an chance to be part of such a dream come true for the Brown family. Thank you Extreme Makeover for coming to Connecticut and all the workers who gave their time to accomplish this dream in such a short time.
Carol

We had a great time! My wife Janet and I really enjoyed being a part of this blessing for the Brown Family. We we thrilled to be able to help out on Sunday. As just one of the countless volunteers - many like ourselves from Black Rock Congregational Church and other surrounding churches - we came to do whatever may be needed to help the project move forward and to give the Gulick Associates team and tradesmen all the backup support they would need. Thanks to the Gulick Brothers and their team, families and to the tradesmen and suppliers who donated their time materials to get the job done!
Chris & Janet Palazini

May God Bless all the people who have worked so hard to make the dream come true for the Brown family. This is truely a once in a lifetime chance to help and be apart of the community. Thanks for coming to Brigeport CT and making it a better place.

Thank You for this web page.

Five weeks ago, my brothers, Steve and Mike Gulick asked me to join their team at Gulick Associates and take a leap of faith in this amazing journey. At that moment, I looked around the conference table and saw only six people staring back at me. It was then that I truly thought my brothers had gone off the deep-end and were absolutely crazy! How were seven of us going to get something so huge done in such a short amount of time? And, then something incredible started happening...one by one, sponsor by sponsor, our team grew bigger and better each day. It is because of all the amazing volunteers and sponsors who stepped up to take this journey with us that we are standing here today with a gorgeous house that did not exist 3 days ago!! Each and every one of you made huge sacrafices to make all of this happen...it is truly amazing what we can accomplish when we pull together as a community! I am so lucky to be a part of such an awesome family and team! Thank you to each and everyone of you for taking that leap of faith with us!
Susan Gulick Stalling

Good job dad and uncle mikey keep working hard i love you both see ya.

This is absolutley amazing. My son, daughter and future daughter-in -law are all working on the site and as they put it, it is an incredible experience that they may never have the opportunity to do again. I am proud to see them giving their time unselfishly so that a family less fortunate than they will have something to be proud of. Welcome home the Brown family!!
Joyce Loschiavo

This has been an experience that I'll never forget. How proud I am of ALL the Gulick family. The time that has been put into this project is overwhelming! I am truly filled with emotion and gratitude for your wonderful efforts to make a beautiful home for the Brown's who truly deserve a home fit for a lovely lady and her family. Thanks again for making it happen.

Hats off to the gulick associates and all the volunteers who works so hard even today in helping a family in need. ive watched the show but to be part of the help really makes a difference. although i wasn"t on the site, i played a part in preperation of the assembled stairs that were installed by my colleagues @ k.b cutstom stairs. i can not imagine the magnitude of stress for completion put on everyone there but i did experience the smiles and sense of accomplishment in providing the help needed for the brown family. god bless all and good luck to the brown family.

Steven and Michael, you are all in my prayers and doing a great job. Can’t wait till I get the tape of the show. I have told all of my friends. All they can say is “wow, awesome”. Ty and his group are just awesome. I watch them on every Sunday night here in Florida. That is just awesome what they are doing, and everyone helping out. Wish I was there with you all! God’s blessings to you all. Love you.
Aunt Mary

As I work with these volunteers at the site building a home I see how much they care. I can't believe that we have got together to build not a house but a home for the Brown family. My heart skips a beat every time I able to get people to help me. The volunteers ask as if they know you and there is no greater happiness than this. This team have shown that there are people out there who care. I thank every one who has made it possible!!

I am so excited for the Brown family! We met Bobbi on Curtis Week, our community outreach program sponsored by Sacred Heart University, and she was such an inspiration. What well deserving people! I wish the crew and the family the best of luck. I'm glad people can find such hope despite misfortune.
Liz Aveni

You can tell the character of a man by what he does for the man who can offer him nothing, and the dedication of each and every volunteer speaks volumes about their character. Those who selflessly donated their time and talents and who may never be thanked personally are the true heroes of this amazing story. I made certain to bring my children to the site so they could witness first hand the generosity of others for a family they may have never met in a community they may not even live. I hope this life lesson about the dedication and sacrifices of so many stay with them for a life time. Thank you for this incredible experience.
Patty J.

It is such a great feeling to know that there are people out there that open there hearts to a wonderful family that really needs this. god bless the family and everyone who made this happen.

It is amazing so see the work being done!! The rain coming down and not seeing not one person complain and just continue on working. I have a new perspective of this TV Show and I have a new appreciation for what it does to well deserved families!!!! Congratulations Brown Family!!
Millie Colon

OH MY GOODNESS!! I have only been able to watch through the pictures on this site, but WOW! It is so exciting to watch God work through so many people. We are praying daily for you all. Thank you for following his leading--press on to the goal! We are so proud of you Steve Gulick for taking on this project-what a blessing to so many-Yeah!
Pam Lanyon

Often we have such great plans for what we will do in the years to come with our lives, but what have we done today? To Michael Gulick (my brother-in-law), I have never been more proud of your ACTION today! I'm also honored to have met men & women over these last couple of days whose names will probably never be mentioned, but who have allowed themselves to be 'salt & light' in this community and for this very deserving family. I'm so incredibly overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people to give of there time, gifts, and talents. Even through heat, rain, and physical exhaustion they have forged ahead. All of you have made a life-long impression on our world and my hope is that each of us will take our inspiration from this action and build on it to create more memories that will change our world!
Robin Keegan

When I signed on for this two weeks ago, I really had no idea that the pace would be so amazing! We've produced larger events and much more complex events, but nothing on this kind of timetable. In addition, we're securing donations of absolutely every product and service we need from caterers to tableware and linens to entertainment. I'm so delightfully surprised by the generosity of the public and all the volunteers. We're totally caught up in the spirit of the project!
Hilary Shapiro--Team Leader, Special Event Producer Owner, Scenario

We are thrilled that this is happening again for another deserving family. And to have it here at home! Wow! The Brown family deserves to be blessed as they are a blessing to others! Thanks to all those who are giving of their time, energy and supplies. We are praying for all of you...for strength...for the weather...and for God's blessings back to you for what you're doing. Hope to make it down to share in the excitement! Wish we had the know-how you need right now. But prayers are important! So you've got 'em!
Kerry, Donna and Mikayla Penner

It's been an honor and a pleasure to work with so many wonderful people on this great endeavor! The true meaning of "Community Spirit" is embodied in the hundreds of volunteers who have given of themselves to make the Brown family's dream come true! My hat is off to Bill Webb and Gulick Associates, thanks for letting me be a small part ofthis very big effort!

As a photographer, I have captured some truly amazing images over the years. This experience of documenting the wonderful volunteers at work has been very moving to me. I walk out to the site and start capturing images and can’t believe how everyone is working together with one common goal. Why can’t the entire world be in such harmony? The work that is accomplished during my time is just truly remarkable. Right before my lens this house is materializing. I thank everyone involved for allowing this to acure and I thank the lord I am a part of it. Thank you.
Chris Buswell

My family & I am are die hard fans of EMHE. When we heard that they were in CT we just had to go & see how it was done. I am a Health Net employee who has never volunteered before and a fellow co-worker got me to sign up. I found out Friday night that its a great thing to do. Watching all the guys doing the footing & start the foundation before I left was amazing. Even though my father built houses since he was 16 up until he was 61 I've never seen the start of a house from the hole in the ground to what I saw before I left. And now I know why he was always tired & "grumpy" from the heat. You guys who build house work your butts off. I didn't hear anyone one of you complain you just kept plugging away. I don't know the Brown Family but have heard the story on the news & on this website. I'm glad she's getting this house and I'm glad I was a volunteer. I'll be there to cheer on for that "MOVE THAT BUS!!". I have to see this thru.
Kelly

We are all so proud of everyone that has volunteered the house looks great. To uncle Steve, we are so glad that you were chosen to do this project. The Brown family will be so excited and grateful when they see their new home ...i can't wait to see their reaction. We love you and great job.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone that has volunteered and partnered with us to be a part of this amazing project. Without all of you this would have never been possible. I am brought to tears every time I am at the site. From people that have taken on huge leadership roles to the people picking up trash, cleaning the streets and everyone in between. And it is all done with a smile and a giving heart. I am in awe. From the bottom of my heart ...Thank you Thank you Thank you! It is so wonderful to see the community come together like this for the Brown family. The Browns are a wonderful family and well deserving of this gift. I am honored to be a part of this project.
Maren Gulick

I would like to thank you for helping this family that really needs it. Also to congratulate all the team that are working hard and also the volunteers. You guys are the perfect example that when people unite you can make anything happened.
Jacqueline Veloz

Wow, my hat is off to all the people who are making this happen. I went in as a volunteer last night, with no real understanding of what I would find ...Expected a pile of debris, but had the pleasure of watching them pour the footings, floor, and start framing the basement walls. Incredible job!
Cathy Kane

We are so moved hearing about this exciting project. Good luck with "Braveheart". The photos are amazing and help to make it real for far away fans. To Mike, Steve and all of the team and volunteers, thank you for your work and generosity. You restore faith in the human spirit.
Kitty Nowak

I am a Health Net employee who will be volunteering my sleep for the family!!! I am so glad and happy that we all "the community" can come together to help each other no matter if it will be broad casted or not. It's not about being on TV or watching the show or who did what. Its about giving back to someone who needs help! God Bless everyone for their efforts no matter if it is donating your time, money, or even support.... I'm so EXCITIED to be apart of it!

How things come full circle! My cousins, Steve and Mike helped me to get my first home and now I'm helping them help a family get their EXTREME new home! This is so amazing! Thank you Steve and Mike for sharing this experience with me! I'm so glad I'm part of your team and am proud of you both! Keep up the good work and know that we are all behind you 100%! Can't wait to MOVE THAT BUS!!
Lynda Falcone

Where do I begin, I am so proud of my husband and brother in-law for what they are doing! This was a huge undertaking and the time, energy, sleepless nights, and the love of what they do for a living is what will bring this family home! Being able to have the opportunity to give something to this wonderful family is so incredible to watch. I am so proud!
Tracy Gulick

I am loyal fan of Extreme Makeover Home Edition and was very excited to see that they are in Bridgeport building a house for the Brown family. I am hoping to get to be a spectator on Sunday, but if not I will be looking forward to seeing the episode air on TV. It's about time something nice like this happened to someone in our state! Congratulations Brown family! Enjoy your new house!

Being an extreme fan of the show, I was astounded to know they were here at home. I have lived here all my life and wondered when when things like this would happen for someone in our city. I don't know how to express the excitement i have that his is happening and I will be there daily to see the progress for this wonderful family. Of course, thanking God for wonderful people like you guys, all the volunteers and the Extreme Makeover Designers.
Again, thank you for making the Brown Family the choice for this makeover and although I never knew them, I know they are well deserving of such a Blessing. All in All, just THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!
These are times I wish I knew a trade that would serve as a contribution but I will be seeking another way to do so!
God Bless You All!
Edgar Rodriguez

My friend, SgtMajor Todd M. Parisi of the US Marine Corps, is a huge fan of your show. Todd would love to be here with you helping out, but he is currently deployed (for the second time) to Iraq. He watches your show whenever he can, and though he is far away, I know he is here in spirit!
Gail M. Marton

I am thrilled to see the community coming together to support the Browns. In particular I was excited as a Health Net member to see that they have gotten involved to provide volunteers.
Matthew Ceres

I AM SOO HAPPY FOR YOU!
Renita Norris

As a builder, it usually takes me about 6 months to build a home, as a regular viewer of EMHE it always amazes me how they do that so quickly. When I was given the opportunity to be involved as a volunteer, to get to work with all these kind hearted people, and to help out a family that is deserving of this, to me promises to be a truly heartwarming, meaningful, and memorable week.

I am already touched by what the dream team is doing for this family. You have blessed many people that you too will be blessed for all that you do.

You know that joke - knock, knock, who’s there? Today, that line took on new meaning for all of us when Brown family got the shout out from Ty Pennington and his design team outside their front door. We are anxious to get started on this once -in-a-lifetime project. Over the next week, we will work side by side with thousands of new and old friends to build this extreme dream house.
Please come out and see first hand all the generous sponsors and trades people who will work day and night to make sure we give this deserving family a second chance to call 285 Hollister Avenue home. We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us get to this point! So before we go and get started on the construction - a big thank you - to our own family who believe in us and have supported us all the way!
Come back to the website often and keep track of the progress!
Steve and Mike Gulick Builders

Thank you Steve and Mike. What a wonderful gift you are giving a very deserving family. It is our pleasure at The Barnum Financial Group to help in this endeavor.
Mindee Blanco, Barnum Financial Group

I am so glad that Extreme Home Makeover has come to Bridgeport.
My mother and I are avid fans of the show. My mother passed away 1 year ago Friday the 27th and would also be happy to see the show here. I will be a spectator Friday and Sunday... I hope to see you all there.
Heather Carlson

... and finally, I get to discover what secret project has kept my neighbor working 24 hours a day lately. Mike has been emotional and driven-- and now I see why. I am so thrilled to see Mike and Steve's home building expertise go toward something so extraordinarily meaningful and important. I am a long-time fan of the show, and cannot believe this is happening so close by! Moreover, I am proud to call Mike and Steve Gulick and their families (who have handed away husbands and fathers for weeks to allow them time to prepare for this) my friends. As the owner of a Gulick home, I can promise the Brown family they are in for a treat!
