Can I come down and see the house being built? - top
Yes you can! Look at the Schedule to see what is planned each day for the project and decide what would work best for you. The spectator area will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 27 – Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Please remember there may be long periods of standing so wear closed toe, comfortable shoes. And on sunny days, please remember to apply sunscreen.

Will there be free parking? - top
Yes, we have limited parking available at 837 Seaview Avenue, Bridgeport, Conn. There will be signs, so please follow directions and drive carefully. Please review the map and get familiar with the local streets. There will be a continuous shuttle service to take you back and forth from the parking area to the construction site.

Will there be handicap accessible parking? - top
If you need handicap accessibility, we ask that you drive up to the check in site and drop off the individual and then park your car in the parking area.

I would like to walk to the construction site. Is that OK? - top
Absolutely! You are welcome to do that. Please make sure to follow the signs for spectators so that you go to the designated spectator area.

I would love to volunteer. How can I do that? - top
If you are interested in volunteering, please click on Volunteer and get the latest request for specific needs and to sign up. This is a 24/7 construction project and we need all the help we can get! So, visit the site often and thank you in advance for your support! NOTE: We will post notices on the Web site indicating when all the volunteer opportunities are full.

May I bring my children? - top
If you are a volunteer, we are asking that you do not bring children under the age of 18 to the construction site for safety reasons. If you are a spectator, please take in consideration that this is standing room only – there are no seats – and the weather may be very hot. Please use your best judgment.

My grandmother is a huge fan of the show. Can she come down and see all the excitement? - top
Please take in consideration that this is standing room only spectator area – there are no seats – and the weather may be very hot or inclement. We also cannot allow for coolers, blankets, or lawn chairs. But please, please make sure you pack some water and a light snack. There are no concession stands on site.

Ok, I confess I am a huge fan too. Can I get Ty’s autograph? - top
Ty, the rest of the design Team, and all the volunteers are going to be working really hard to make sure the Brown family comes back from their vacation to a completed house. There may be opportunities for autographs, but we unfortunately cannot guarantee that.

Can I bring a sign? - top
You can certainly bring a sign to encourage all the volunteers and construction workers! They deserve all the credit for lending us their time and expertise to help build this house in one week. Your signs would be very much appreciated. Keep them positive, short, and visible from a distance.

Is smoking prohibited? - top
There will be no smoking allowed. This is a live construction site and we need to take every precaution to make it a safe environment for everyone involved.

Will cameras and video cameras be allowed? - top
You are more than welcome to bring them and use them while you are in the spectator area. We also will be posting new photos daily to this Web site during the build so be sure to check back regularly for updates!

I would love to come down during my work lunch hour. Can I bring food? - top
We certainly don’t mind you doing that. We just can’t have you sitting up a picnic blanket! There will no concession stands on site. Please if it is hot, remember to drink lots of water. Please also remember that we are guests in this neighborhood. People live here and we need to be respectful of that. We are guests in this neighborhood so please be sure to throw any garbage away in the proper receptacles.

Will spectators be allowed if the weather is bad? - top
The construction will go on even if it snows! Please use your good judgment when deciding to come down and visit. Umbrellas are allowed, but unfortunately, there will not be a covered area for spectators.

Will there be bathrooms? - top
Yes, there will be nearby portables available to you.

Knowing me, I will lose something while I am there. What should I do? - top
There will be a “lost and found” at the check-in tent. If you happen to misplace something, please go there and ask them. Remember, you are fully responsible for all lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.

Will there be paramedics for emergencies? - top
Yes, there will be and hopefully you will never need to use their services! In case of an emergency, please look for the paramedics, or a staff volunteer (in a red golf shirt), and ask for assistance. If it is an urgent matter, please do not wait for assistance - call 911.

I can’t make it to the construction site, but I would love to participate in other ways. How can I do that? - top
